Volunteer Opportunity: Carers Café Volunteer (Hucclecote)
Location: Hucclecote
Time Commitment: (Third Friday of the month )
Duration: 2 hours per session session is 10.30-11.30
About the Role
We are looking for friendly and compassionate volunteers to support our monthly Carers Café in Hucclecote. This welcoming space offers unpaid carers the opportunity to relax, connect with others, and access support in a warm and informal setting.
As a volunteer, you will help create a positive, inclusive environment where carers feel valued, listened to, and supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome carers and help them feel comfortable on arrival
- Engage in friendly conversation and offer a listening ear
- Assist with setting up and packing away the café space
- Support the session facilitator with general tasks
- Help signpost carers to Gloucestershire Carers Hub services and support
Support and Training
- We will provide ongoing support until you feel confident and comfortable in your role
- All volunteers will complete online training
- A DBS check will be arranged and funded by us

- A warm, approachable and empathetic nature
- Good listening and communication skills
- Reliability and a willingness to commit once a month
- Ability to work as part of a small, friendly team
- No prior experience needed – just a positive attitude
