Come and get involved with a taster session in our heritage orchards and kitchen garden. All are welcome for however long you can spare. No experience needed!

At Wick Court, we have three heritage fruit orchards and a thriving kitchen garden, and are looking for volunteers! This taster session is a chance to see whether volunteering with us is for you. We'll be getting stuck into a variety of tasks, such as seed sowing, potting on and planting, as well as a look around our orchards where we might do some pruning.

Hot and cold drinks will be available, but please bring a bottle of water and wellies or other suitable footwear.

About Farms for City Children

Since Farms for City Children was founded in 1976, over 100,000 children and young people have taken home the benefits of being farmers for a week.

Our immersive residentials embed invaluable connections with nature, food and farming. We provide a wealth of new experiences that young people can draw on to support their emotional wellbeing and resilience, alongside growing transferable life skills and self-expectations. We lead by example through nature-friendly, regenerative and sustainable farming practices and provide a practical introduction to higher animal welfare standards.

Our aim is to provide a week of learning and nurture that empowers young people to leave us as curious, courageous and compassionate citizens.
