Become a Dad Champion at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital! đśđ¤
Dad Matters Gloucestershire needs compassionate volunteers for our Hospital Drop-In team at Gloucestershire Royal Hospitalâs Maternity Ward. Support new and expectant dads through anxiety, work-life balance, early days home, or traumatic birthsâhelp them thrive as fathers!
What Youâll Do:
- Offer one-on-one peer support to dads, providing a listening ear during their early fatherhood journey.
- Signpost dads to local resources for challenges like anxiety or work-life balance.
- Be a warm, approachable presence, creating a supportive maternity ward vibe.
- Attend regular supervision and training to enhance your skills.
Time Commitment:
Just 2 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, 9am-7pmâfit it into your life and make a difference!
Weâre Looking for Volunteers Who:
- Are empathetic, reliable, and great listeners.
- Have a positive attitude toward all backgrounds (gender, family status, identity, ethnicity, culture, religion, ability).
- Are comfortable in a hospital setting and can commit to 2 hours weekly.
- Ideally have experience of having a baby (not essential) and are eager to support dads through tough moments like traumatic births or new dad anxiety.
