Summary

Be part of the team that produces the Canal Spring Festival! Share your skills, learn new ones and be part of a team working towards something great.

Detailed description

2023 was the inaugural year of the Canal Spring Festival and wow what a year it was! We estimate that we had 4000 people join us in celebrating the community, heritage and natural beauty of this part of the world.

The event was organised by Cotswold Canals Connected, a Heritage Lottery funded project aimed at bringing together different partners to preserve the history and build the future of canals in the Stroud district, connecting people, places and wildlife.

This team are only in place for the next two years though so if the Canal Spring Festival is to be an annual event we need to find a group of volunteers that would like to take on the job.

There are lots of different roles on offer so there really is something for everyone! If you have experience in the role you are going for that's great! If you don't and would like to gain some new skills that's totally fine too. The Cotswold Canals Connected team are really experienced and full support and training will be given.

The event has been broken down into bite sized pieces so that no-one has to take on too much work:

-Sponsorship lead - Create a sponsorship pack and approach local businesses

-Fundraising and collections lead - Apply for funding and lead a team of collectors on the event day

-Social media lead - create a really strong name for the festival online
