Summary

Do you have a strong listening ear, and a desire to help others? Do you have personal or professional experience of supporting families, or family members?

Detailed description

Do you have a strong listening ear, and a desire to help others?

Our Family Support Volunteer in the Tewkesbury area could be the role for you!

Helping our Family Support Practitioners to provide families with support, strategies, routines, and befriending, our Family Support Volunteers can make all the difference.

You'll be maintaining regular contact with a family, offering emotional support to ease the feeling of isolation. You can also provide practical support and be an extra pair of hands to the family, with a particular focus on healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. With a new centre at Priors Park Neighbourhood Project, you will be provided with a variety of opportunities to organise different groups and activities in the local community.

If you are an empathetic and compassionate person, who can adopt a non-judgemental approach, with availability on weekdays and weekends, then click "apply" now!

About CCP - Caring for Communities and People

As a charity delivering services across the South West, CCP prevents the causes, and reduces the effects, of homelessness, family breakdown and social isolation. Last year we supported 9,926 people to access:
• safe, stable accommodation to young people, children in care and vulnerable adults
• support to avoid someone losing their home
• family support to parents feeling overwhelmed
• social and friendship groups to avoid, or come out of, isolation.
• affordable food and other essentials through our Community Pantry

With a head office in Cheltenham, we currently employ 270 staff, backed up by a team of 65 volunteers, and deliver services and projects in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Wiltshire, Devon and Dorset.
