Do you love gardening? Would you be willing to spare a few hours on a Wednesday throughout Summer to run our allotment in Stonehouse?

Detailed description

Do you love being outdoors? Do you love gardening? Do you want to help enhance the lives of adults with learning disabilities within your community?

We are looking for a volunteer to run our allotment in Stonehouse for a group of 6 adults with a learning disability. The allotment will need to be managed and maintained from April till October. The allotment is currently run by a wonderful volunteer on Wednesdays at 10am-11:30am, but we are looking for an additional volunteer to work alongside her.

Our ideal volunteer is someone who has a keen interest in gardening, is sociable, outgoing, and friendly. You’ll need to be committed to building empowering relationships with people with learning disabilities and autism. No previous experience necessary.

Full training will be provided. We cover all expenses. You will need to undergo a full DBS check of which we will fund.

About Building Circles

At Building Circles we know that sometimes people with Learning Disabilities and their families and carers can sometimes feel “cut off” or lonely.

Building Circles are a charity that offers them the opportunity to enjoy a more fulfilling life. We train and support volunteers who offer friendship to people with learning disabilities and their families.

It is our mission to provide life enhancing opportunities for socially isolated people with moderate to very complex needs. We aim to be a quality provider, ensuring excellent training and continuing support is given to volunteers to establish and maintain friendships with individuals and their families. We seek to extend opportunities for social interaction by offering a range of community activities for all participants.
