Summary
Do you enjoy gardening? We’re looking for volunteers to join our small, welcoming volunteer team in Prestbury.Detailed description
Our Allotment Group creates a safe space for adults with learning disabilities to learn more about gardening, socialise with their peers and, of course, enjoy the fresh produce grown on site (plus some tea and cake).
As an allotment volunteer, you'll assist a small group of enthusiastic adults with learning disabilities to manage their allotment. This is a rewarding and fun role, and in exchange for your time we offer:
- Training to enable you to work with adults with learning disabilities.
- Ongoing support (where required) from the Building Circles team.
- Opportunities to participate in a range of volunteer social activities.
- Reimbursement of expenses such as travel costs.
Our Allotment Group runs on Wednesdays from 10:45 am to 12:45 pm. Gardening experience would be an advantage.

What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costs🤝 Extra supportAbout Building Circles
Building Circles supports adults with learning disabilities in Gloucestershire to form and maintain meaningful friendships. Our Social Buddies, Gig Buddies and Football Buddies programmes connect adults with learning disabilities to local volunteers. Our Buddies then get out into the community to do things they enjoy together. Our volunteers also support our other groups, such as our Allotment Groups and Art Group. We aim to enable adults with learning disabilities to live a more meaningful life, and volunteers are at the heart of what we do. In exchange for your volunteering time, we offer training and ongoing support, as well as reimbursement of expenses and opportunities to join our team at a range of social events.
