Behind every successful Scout group is a team of volunteers making sure everything runs smoothly. We’re looking for a Treasurer to help oversee the finances of 15th Cheltenham (Shurdington) Scout Group and support our work with over 100 young people.
This is a valuable role where your skills can have a direct impact on the activities, equipment, camps and experiences we can offer.
You would help to:
- Maintain accurate financial records and oversee income and expenditure.
- Monitor the group’s budget and provide clear financial updates to the trustee board.
- Help prepare annual accounts and financial reports.
- Support the management of banking, payments, subscriptions and other financial administration.
- Help ensure appropriate financial controls are in place.
- Support grant applications, fundraising and financial planning where needed.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working with figures. Experience in bookkeeping, accountancy, finance or using accounting software would be beneficial, but we’re happy to discuss the role with anyone who has suitable skills and is willing to learn.
You don’t need any previous Scouting experience. You’ll work with the existing volunteer team and receive support to understand the group’s finances and responsibilities.
The role offers flexibility, with regular financial administration and attendance at trustee meetings as required. If you’d like to put your skills to good use for a local charity and help young people enjoy more opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.
