What is a Fringe festival?
A Fringe festival is an arts festival featuring unusual, alternative, or experimental performances and exhibitions. The events are usually self-produced by the artists and performers involved - making Fringe festivals a great way for new and up-and-coming work to be seen, heard, and enjoyed by a local audience!
The FOD Fringe will be made up of performances and exhibitions by Forest-based artists, musicians, and creators alongside some visiting acts. It will be a real showcase and celebration of the brilliant, diverse, weird, and wonderful creative scene here in the Forest of Dean and a chance to see professional shows from further afield.
Wyldwood have also commissioned a range of local artists and community groups to develop their ideas for inclusion in the Fringe program, keep and eye on our socials for info about these great projects.

If you are passionate about supporting local creative and community events, you might consider volunteering at FOD Fringe 2024.
We’re going to need support with things such as promoting events (putting up posters, distributing flyers and online promotion), as well as stewarding at the events themselves.

Our current projects, based in and around the Forest of Dean, offer a variety of creative ways to bring local people and communities together.
FOD FRINGE 2024
Showcasing and celebrating the creative & cultural landscape of this place we call home, the FOD Fringe 2024 will be a month of performances, exhibitions, experiences, walks, talks, gatherings & happenings - created and curated by and for the people of the Forest of Dean in March 2024.
We are looking for volunteers to be involved in a number of different roles throughout February and March 2024.
