Treasurer Trustee

Purpose: To oversee the financial affairs of Vision 21 Gloucestershire, ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

· Monitor the financial health of the charity and ensure proper financial controls are in place.

· Oversee the preparation of budgets, management accounts, and annual financial statements.

· Advise the Board on financial strategy, risk management, and investment decisions.

· Liaise with the external accountant or auditor as required.

· Ensure compliance with financial and charity regulations.

· Present financial reports clearly and accessibly to the Board.

· Support staff in developing financial literacy and accountability.

Person Specification:

· Qualified accountant or significant experience in financial management.

· Understanding of charity finance and reporting requirements.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.

· Commitment to Vision 21’s mission and values.

Our Work

· Community Recycling and Reuse: Supporting waste reduction through Reclaim furniture project, repair cafés, Library of Things, recycling schemes, and upcycling initiatives.

· Sustainability Education: Providing workshops, talks, and resources to schools, businesses, and community groups.

· Practical Climate Action: Empowering people to take action, through events, group support and volunteering.

· Local Food and Growing Projects: Encouraging sustainable food systems through community gardens and local food networks.

· Partnership and Advocacy: Working with local authorities, businesses, and other charities to influence sustainable policy and practice.
