Summary

Our delightful cafe serving home made cakes and home cooked food is getting busier and we need people to help. This could be serving, cooking/baking, washing up

Detailed description

We are open Tuesday mornings, Thursday - Saturday all day (10am until 2pm). The cafe is run by Jo, supported by Katrina and Zoe with a small team of volunteers. We provide you with a food hygiene training/certificate, food allergen training, 1st aid training and a discount in the cafe. We need volunteers who can: use a Barista machine; use the till; politely and professionally serve customers; be able to bake or cook and prepare food items from our menu. Please note on some days in the month the cafe gets very busy and even more so when we have a weekend event on. Thank you for reading!

About The Folk of Gloucester

The Folk of Gloucester is a Community Space and Cultural Venue operated by Gloucester Civic Trust.

Gloucester Civic Trust was established in 1972
We actively encourage the appreciation and conservation of Gloucester’s heritage and are a major force in the promotion of city tourism. We aim to ensure that regeneration programmes respect and complement Gloucester’s diverse past.

We are an independent charity run by volunteers. Our income comes from subscriptions, donations and guided tours. We work closely with local residents’ groups and businesses to encourage vibrant communities. Our projects help to improve the quality of life of local people, as well as educating both residents and visitors about our city’s rich culture and history.

We want Gloucester to be a pleasant place to visit, and a safe and clean city for all those who live and work here.

The Folk of Gloucester was Formerly the Folk museum which was closed in 2018. Gloucester Civic Trust is bringing the building back to life as a community space and Cultural Venue. We host a range of activities from Music, Story telling to Theatre and everything in between. We will be hosting exhibitions and events days that Educate, Entertain and enthuse all those that visit.
To make this happen we need your help!!
