Our Shop Floor Volunteers are the friendly face of our charity shop, creating a welcoming environment and making sure the shop is looking its best

We opened our first charity shop in Stroud in 2024. All funds raised from donations sold in the shop go towards helping care for our animals. As a small, independent charity, we are reliant on donations, grants and volunteers to operate.

What we’re looking for: Our Shop Floor Volunteers are the friendly face of our charity shop, creating a welcoming environment for every customer and making sure the shop is well stocked and looking its best.

This role would be a good fit if you’re friendly and helpful, with excellent customer service skills, able to work as part of a small team. Experience of operating a till and taking payments, with a creative eye for making attractive displays will be useful but we can provide full training.

There is the potential for this role to develop with help sorting and preparing items for sale, doing stock runs in our van, or listing items online.

When you can help: Ideally a morning or afternoon one day a week. The charity shop is open 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday, and volunteers usually give a 4 hour shift. We can be flexible within these times to suit you and your availability.

What we can offer you:

    • An induction, ongoing support, and training
    • An opportunity to meet new people and be part of a friendly team
    • Gain experience, learn new skills, and make a difference to animals in your community
    • A reference for studying or employment
    • A dedicated volunteer coordinator for check ins and support
