We're looking for an organised volunteer with an eye for detail to help sort and prepare donations at our Stroud shop and make them ready for sale.

We opened our first charity shop in Stroud in 2024. All funds raised from donations sold in the shop go towards helping care for our animals. As a small, independent charity, we are reliant on donations, grants and volunteers to operate.

What we’re looking for: An organised volunteer with an eye for detail to help sort and prepare donations at our Stroud shop and make them ready for sale.

This role is ideal for someone who likes a good rummage and a sort, able to identity quality items for sale in the shop or online, and those to be disposed of. You will need to be tidy and organised, able to work in a small space as part of a small team.

There is also the option for the role to develop, including spending time on the shop floor, serving customers, merchandising, using the van for stock runs, or listing items online.

Please consider there will be time on your feet and use of a steamer when preparing stock. There will be some moving of stock, so you will need to be comfortable handling boxes or bags of donations, which can be heavy or bulky, safely.

Full training in how to sort, identify, and prepare donated items will be provided.

When you can help: Ideally a morning or afternoon, one day a week. The charity shop is open 9am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday, and volunteers usually give a morning or afternoon shift. We can be flexible within these times to suit you and your availability.

What we can offer you:

    • An induction, ongoing support, and training
    • An opportunity to meet new people and be part of a friendly team
    • Gain experience, learn new skills, and make a difference to animals in your community
    • A reference for studying or employment
    • A dedicated volunteer coordinator for check ins and support
