We are looking for Volunteer Trustees who have experience in: Accounting, IT, Fundraising or business experience
- What is the role of a trustee?
The Board of Trustee’s main role is to ensure that Headway Cotswold Trust Ltd (Headway Gloucestershire) meets its legal duties, remains solvent and is well run. We set the strategic direction of the organisation and support the CEO with the implementation of agreed operational objectives. We also look at innovative ways to raise awareness of acquired brain injury and our services.
- What skills does a trustee need?
We are looking for people who have:
- Good communication skills.
- A creative mind and have good independent judgment.
- The ability to work effectively within the team.
- The ability to evaluate and interpret information and think creatively.
- The necessary skills to understand and accept legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
We are particularly keen to hear from people who have expertise in Finance (Accounting), HR, social care and fundraising; however, all knowledge and skills are welcomed and valued.
We want our trustees, staff and volunteers to represent the diversity of the people we support. We encourage disabled and non-disabled people from all ages, ethnicities, cultures and socio-economic backgrounds to consider taking on this leadership role. - What level of commitment is required?
Regular attendance at our Board of Trustees meetings, held at Headway Gloucestershire and on video call. We meet every eight weeks. You will also need to attend our Annual General Meeting in July/August. There are opportunities to be involved in projects throughout the year in addition to the meetings, depending on your availability.
- Is it a paid position?
No. Trustees offer their support voluntarily but can have agreed ‘out of pocket’ expenses reimbursed, including car mileage, to official meetings.
