About the Role
As a Public Speaker & Cheque Presentation Volunteer for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC), you’ll inspire others by delivering engaging talks about our lifesaving work. Whether accepting a donation on our behalf, visiting a community group, or speaking at a school or business, your voice will help raise awareness and vital support for our charity.
This role is perfect for confident communicators who enjoy public speaking and want to make a meaningful impact in their local area.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadow an experienced volunteer to learn the style and content of our talks
- Familiarise yourself with GWAAC’s standardised presentation material
- Deliver engaging talks independently to schools, clubs, businesses, and local groups
- Represent GWAAC at cheque presentations and thank donors for their support
- Take GWAAC merchandise and a collection box to each event to encourage donations
- Share stories about our service and the difference public support makes
Requirements
- Confident and engaging public speaker
- Comfortable delivering a talk solo or to varied audiences
- Reliable, well-organised, and committed to giving talks when arranged
- Willing to learn and represent the charity’s key messages accurately
- Access to transport is helpful for reaching talk locations (expenses covered)
- Passionate about our cause and able to inspire others
