Summary
Provide a safe night for a low risk young person facing homelessness. Flexible around you. Full expenses paid. Training provided. 24/7 On-Call support.Detailed description
Being a volunteer host at Gloucestershire Nightstop offers a rewarding opportunity with a strong focus on safety. As a host you will open your home, and provide a bed, hot meal, and a non-judgemental ear to a young person facing homelessness. Young people who stay with hosts are thoroughly vetted, ensuring they are low-risk individuals. As a host, you have the peace of mind knowing that your safety is a priority.
There is complete flexibility with your availability, and we fit in around you. There is no minimum time commitment, and all placements are reviewed on a night-by-night basis.
Additionally, volunteers benefit from 24-hour on-call support, providing assistance and guidance whenever needed. This support network ensures that hosts are never alone in addressing any concerns that may arise during a hosting experience.
To further equip volunteers, comprehensive training is provided. This training covers essential skills and knowledge to effectively support young people facing homelessness. It empowers hosts to create a welcoming and secure environment for these individuals while fostering a sense of community and understanding. We facilitate and cover the cost of your DBS, so do not worry if you do not have one.
By volunteering with Gloucestershire Nightstop, you play a crucial role in helping young people in need while being supported and well-prepared throughout your journey.
