Are you passionate about making a positive difference in your community? Then we are looking for you. Join us as a volunteer driver and help young people today.

WHAT IS VOLUNTEER DRIVING?


By becoming a volunteer driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that young people using our services can get essential support, access to services and have a safe space to sleep.


Your role may be providing transportation to and from a Nightstop host or bringing the young person into the city to access our Daystop facility. Your support will offer a friendly face during difficult times and your contribution will make a significant impact.


Join our team of dedicated volunteers and be a DRIVING force for change in Gloucestershire.

What we expect from you

  • Full clean driving licence
  • Own car with insurance, tax and an MOT
  • Be willing to have an enhanced DBS check if you do not have one (we can facilitate this)
  • Complete the training and the onboarding process
  • Communicate with staff if plans change
  • Complete availability calendar
  • Communicate any support needs


What to expect from us

  • Check in with you, before and after every trip
  • Expenses covered (45p per mile)
  • Provide extra training and supervision
  • Social events & thank yous

About Gloucestershire Nightstop

Gloucestershire Nightstop is a charity that works to prevent and end youth homelessness across Gloucestershire.
We work with 16-25 year olds and offer Emergency Accommodation through our network of Volunteer Hosts; Longer- Term Accommodation through supported lodgings; Homelessness prevention grants through Juliet's Purse; Befriending- Peer Support from young people who have experienced homelessness themselves and Advice & Support to navigate the housing system.
