Are you friendly, welcoming, and passionate about supporting your local community? We are looking for a volunteer to help run our monthly Carers Café at Quedgeley Library, providing a warm and supportive environment for unpaid carers to connect, relax, and access information
About the Role
As a Carers Café Volunteer, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming space where carers can meet others who understand their experiences. You will help facilitate conversations, offer a friendly listening ear, and signpost carers to support available through the Carers Hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome carers attending the café and help create an inclusive atmosphere.
- Purchase tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and biscuits using the café subs budget.
- Provide information about the Gloucestershire Carers Hub through signposting
- Encourage social interaction and peer support among attendees.
- Report any concerns or safeguarding issues in line with organisational procedures
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Friendly, approachable, and confident in meeting new people.
- A good listener with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and able to work independently.
- Passionate about supporting unpaid carers and their wellbeing.
- Comfortable handling a small refreshments budget.
