Summary

Monthly support group for those caring for a member of the Armed Forces or the veteran community

Detailed description

Gloucestershire Carers Hub are looking to set up monthly support group for those who are caring for a member of the Armed Forces or a veteran. The support group will be in 2 formats a monthly cafe where Carers can get together face to face over a cuppa, and also a monthly online meet where those caring for someone in the Armed Forces or a veteran can get together for a chat, a quiz etc. We are looking for volunteers who have a good understanding of the Armed Forces and veteran community. The face to face volunteers will meet and greet and record who is at the session and feedback any questions of support we can give members to the volunteer coordinator. The online volunteers will facilitate an hours meeting once a month online where Carers from this community can chat and support each other, it would be good if the volunteers could maybe arrange fun online activities for example a quiz, or fun bingo etc. All volunteers are fully supported by the volunteer coordinator, will have a DSB check that we will pay for and have a robust training with ongoing training opportunities. We are looking for several volunteers throughout the county to help us.
