Gloucester Foodbank is recruiting a Trustee with Marketing, PR and Fundraising experience. Help shape our future and make a difference locally!
We are looking to recruit a Trustee with skills, knowledge and experience in marketing, PR and fundraising.
Established in 2005, Gloucester Foodbank is part of the Trussell network of over 1,200 UK foodbanks, providing emergency food and support to people in crisis across the local community. The foodbank serves the GL1 to GL4 areas of Gloucester and surrounding areas.
Gloucester Foodbank is a charitable company limited by guarantee. We are regulated by the Charity Commission, governed by a board of trustees with operational activity delivered by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
You will be joining us at a time of renewed investment in our governance structures to ensure long term sustainability and clarity in strategic direction. We are committed to being a learning organisation – you may not have been a Trustee before, but we will support you as we grow together.
What’s Required?
An individual with skills, knowledge and experience in marketing, public relations and fundraising who will:
• Commit to Gloucester Foodbank’s vision, mission and values and act in a way that embodies these
• Use their specific skills, knowledge and experience to help the board of trustees reach sound decisions and support staff (paid and voluntary) in their roles
• Support the outlining and development of volunteer roles focussed on marketing, PR and fundraising
• Be willing to dedicate the necessary time and effort to the role. The trustees meet monthly online (1 hour) and quarterly face to face (2 hours). An additional time commitment is required for tasks such as reading information circulated ahead of meetings and preparing to contribute. We estimate the time commitment per month to be around 5 – 8 hours.
• Support the development of Gloucester Foodbank’s strategy from April 2027 onwards, which is likely to include a small number of additional meetings in early 2027. This is planned to be a piece of facilitated work
What’s in it for you?
• An opportunity to utilise existing skills to support a small charity based in Gloucester focused on alleviating poverty and financial hardship
• Personal and professional development – as noted above, we are committed to individually and collectively learning.
• The ongoing commitment and support from the trustees and the Foodbank Director

About Gloucester Foodbank
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
