Do you enjoy online shopping, selling, researching products, or discovering hidden gems? We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help grow our thriving Online Sales Department.
By joining our team, you'll help turn donated goods into vital income that supports the work of Emmaus Gloucestershire, while gaining valuable retail and e-commerce experience.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be involved in all aspects of online selling, including:
- Researching donated items and brands
- Identifying collectables, antiques, fashion and unique finds
- Taking high-quality photographs
- Creating engaging eBay and Vinted listings
- Managing both Buy It Now and Auction sales
- Pricing items competitively
- Monitoring listings and responding to customer enquiries
- Packing and dispatching sold items
- Helping maximise sales and income
- Supporting the growth and development of our online sales department
What We're Looking For
We're seeking volunteers who are:
- Reliable and able to commit regularly
- Comfortable using computers, tablets or smartphones
- Interested in online selling and retail
- Keen to learn new skills
- Organised and detail-oriented
- Enthusiastic about supporting a local charity
No experience is necessary. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Hours
Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
We're looking for volunteers who can offer regular support, with as many hours as they can commit on a consistent basis. Whether you can volunteer one day a week or several days, every contribution helps us expand our online sales operation.

Emmaus Gloucestershire support people who have experienced, or have been at risk of, homelessness. We do this by providing a stable home alongside care, support and supervision that is individually tailored to enable them to recover and to achieve their goals and aspirations.
For many people who experience homelessness, one of the biggest obstacles they must overcome is a loss of self-esteem. Emmaus provides an opportunity to regain this, with a chance to use their existing skills and to develop new skills and qualifications in order to help to rebuild their self esteem and confidence whilst making a real contribution to their community.
Emmaus communities are not hostels for the homeless; they provide a home for as long as someone needs it. For many, this support and stability is like the family they don’t have, providing a safe environment in which to settle and re-build their lives. Often this is an opportunity to overcome issues such as addiction, get support with mental health issues or rebuild relationships with estranged family.
Social enterprise is central to the Emmaus model as it provides meaningful work experience for companions but also generates part of the funding required to maintain communities.
Emmaus communities deliver a significant return on investment. Research shows that for every £1 invested in a community, there is an £11 social, environmental and economic return, with savings to the benefit bill, health services and a reduction in crime.
