Summary

The CFPA is a festival of music, drama and dance, for children young adults and adults, taking place in May each year. This year is our 100th anniversary.

Detailed description

We are looking for friendly, helpful Stewards to join our fantastic group of volunteer stewards and help to make our festival run smoothly. The stewards ensure that the classes within the festival run smoothly, maintaining high standards of safeguarding, and helping to create a positive environment for young performers, families, and all visitors.

Role: Steward – Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts

Reporting to: The Chief Steward

Location: Cheltenham Town Hall

Hours: Flexible shifts (morning, afternoon or early evening) within the festival, which takes place over 10 days at the beginning of May each year.

We are looking for people who have/are:

-         flexible with their time and enjoys working with people

-         friendly, helpful, calm and practical

-         an understanding of health & safety and safeguarding practices — but enthusiasm and reliability matter just as much.

The role involves four main tasks:

-         Front desk steward – welcoming people, selling tickets and programmes, way finding and supervising sign in of performers.

-         Door steward – preventing entry to the room during performances.

-         Announcer – reading the welcome script aloud, ensuring that all performers are called to perform in order and the adjudicator is aware of the performer’s name.

-         Adjudicator’s Steward – organising the certificates and cups needed for the class, working with the adjudicator in the way they wish you to work ensuring that their needs are met.

You will be able to choose your task, time and class before the festival.

Come help us run a fun, safe and supportive space where performers can shine!
