Gloster Gladiator Restoration Lead
Objective
Jet Age Museum is restoring a Gloster Gladiator aircraft to display condition. The restoration standard will be one which enables the aircraft’s important operational history to be presented effectively to the public.
Volunteer Role
A Volunteer is required to take overall Project Lead for budget, activity planning and configuration control of the new Gladiator exhibit. Lead Engineers will be in place for the three activity packages (landing gear, fuselage, tailplane). The Project Lead will operate with the Lead Engineers to establish an overall practicable plan, monitor progress against that plan and manage any risks that might arise.
Volunteer Experience
A vacancy exists for a Volunteer with experience in (preferably Engineering) Project Management to bring the individual activity packages together to Time, Cost, Quality and provide reporting of progress to the overall Conservation and Restoration Manager.
Full technical support exists within the Team, but any knowledge of aircraft restoration would be welcome although is not essential. Enthusiasm for this important and rewarding task is a key requirement.

Following interview, selection and agreement to take up the position, as a new Jet Age Volunteer the successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Gloucestershire Aviation Collection (GAC) (annual subscription £15.00) and attend a Volunteer Induction Course before commencing volunteering activity. Further On the Job Training may be required for workshop activity.
A tour of the museum and workshop before applying for the post is encouraged.

Getting there
Location: Jet Age Museum is at Meteor Business Park, off Cheltenham Road East (the B4063), on the north side of Gloucestershire Airport. Look for the temporary double mini-roundabouts between the large white Safran building and the Ontic building. Turn off the main road into Meteor Business Park at the temporary double mini-roundabouts and the Museum’s blue gates will be on your right. The address is: Meteor Business Park, Cheltenham Road East, Gloucester GL2 9QL There is no pedestrian or vehicle access to the Museum from the Airport. If using a Satellite Navigation System and postcode, please note that this will take you to the eastern entrance of Meteor Business Park from where you will need to follow either the main road or the internal Business Park road westbound until you arrive at Jet Age Museum at the western end of the Business Park.About Jet Age Museum
