Summary

We have moved! Hundred Heroines is in our beautiful new gallery space on 1st floor of the Eastgate Shopping Centre, and we need YOU to help us run the gallery.

Detailed description

As from 6th October 2022, we are looking for responsible individuals to help us open our gallery space to the public, 4 days a week. As an exhibition steward, you will be meeting and greeting visitors as they arrive, helping them navigate around the gallery, answering questions and helping our Gallery Assistants keep the space looking neat and tidy for the next day.

Each shift is just 3 hours long and you can choose from the 10.30-1.30 or the 1.30 to 4.30 shift. You can fill as many or as few shifts a month as suits you. We provide you with tea, coffee and biscuits, as well as a coveted HH t-shirt to wear during your shift.

We'll also provide you with full training on the collections and exhibitions so you can answer visitor questions. And you won't be the only one on duty! You'll be supported by our small and friendly team who will be in on the day.

So if you're looking for a new challenge that doesn't demand lots of your time, come join us!

About Hundred Heroines

Hundred Heroines (HH) is the only UK charity (registered charity number: 1190277) dedicated to advancing public awareness of women in photography. Leading women photographers (the ‘Heroines’) challenge how we see the world, push artistic and social boundaries and highlight issues of inequality. We provide an accessible and varied programme of creative, social and educational activities and opportunities, particularly empowering for young women.

Our vision is the universal recognition of women in photography – past, present & future. Our mission is to connect people with the visual arts and to share opportunities for diverse communities to celebrate women in photography.
