SummaryDursley Open Door Club is a thriving social club for adults with learning disabilities. We are looking for volunteers to support the running of our club nights.
Dursley Open Door Club has just celebrated its 40th Anniversary. During this time it has provided an invaluable support network to the adults who attend, giving them the opportunity to meet new people, create lasting friendships and have lots of fun!
Club nights are held on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 - 9.00 and provide a range of activities such as table tennis, cards, darts, art and craft and various music and dance events. We also take members to local shows, have an annual boat trip, go sailing and organise day trips to see local places of interest.
On club nights volunteers help set up, run the tuck shop and spend time socialising with the members. Volunteers are also able to get more involved with the running of the club by organising activities, attending AGMs or even becoming a Trustee.
All of our members and volunteers count Tuesday evenings as one of the highlights of their week, and we would love you to join us.
About Dursley Open Door Club
Meetings take place on a Tuesday evening in Dursley town centre and provide a wide range of fun activities for members, from live music to sailing, dance lessons to cinema trips and just about any excuse for a party! We also organise club outings, with our latest being to see the wonderful Gifford Circus.
Volunteering with us is not only hugely rewarding, but also great fun!
